Project Brief:
Client: J Dooley
Location: Berkshire
Size: 96msq approx
Brief: To create a usable space for relaxing in with a Japanese feel using materials and planting to convey this idea.
Solution:
To remove the lawn and create a more usable space by reducing the slope of the garden and retaining the edge with new timber sleepers. A combination of materials create paved areas softened by planting. A circular lily pool is the focus of the garden and the main paved area is sheltered by a bamboo arbour. Reed panels screen the garden from the adjacent footpath. A view is left into the field next to the garden to borrow the view from the landscape beyond and maximise the space.
