THE
PROCESS
INITIAL
CONSULTATION
The initial consultation is where we will discuss your garden
requirements and familiarise ourselves with the condition
of the site. From this consultation we will prepare cost
estimates and time scales for your approval.
SITE SURVEY
The site survey involves a complete garden analysis which
includes detailed site measurements such as recording of
the house within the boundaries, existing features, levels,
soil type, aspect etc. On small sites where no levels are
required measurements are usually taken during the first
visit. In some cases a land surveyor will be recommended
to carry out a detailed building and land survey.
OUTLINE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
On your approval we will prepare the first drawings, the
outline garden plan, which gives an overall proposal and
layout of the new garden design based on our initial discussions.
Once this stage is aggreed, construction details, planting
plans or specific detailed drawings will be prepared.
MASTER PLANS
The master plans consists of a number of final detailed
drawings:
+ Design layout
+ Construction drawings
+ Materials list
+ Final Costing
+ Written specifications for building stage.
PLANTING PLAN
On the basis of an approved design, we will prepare a planting
plan for the entire garden, or specific areas showing the
species of plants recommended and their positioning. A plant
list will also be provided to accompany the drawing to facilitate
ordering.
BUILDING THE GARDEN
At this stage our role will change to a project management
position. We will source and brief any third party suppliers.
We will deal with contractors to ensure the construction
is delivered to quality and on time and on budget.
